
The Nintendo Switch 2 officially hit store shelves last Thursday (5). By Monday (10), Nintendo announced that the Switch 2 had become the company’s fastest-selling console ever.

According to a statement released by the Japanese manufacturer, in less than a week after its launch, the Nintendo Switch 2 had already sold an impressive 3.5 million units worldwide.
“Fans […] are showing their excitement for the Nintendo Switch 2 as an enhanced way to play at home and on the go,” said Doug Bowser, President and COO of Nintendo of America, in a statement.
Since its release in 2017, the first Switch has sold 152 million units. For its successor, Nintendo projected that the Switch 2 would sell 15 million units in its first month alone.
